Garden of Glass

If you’ve got old windows or anything glass/china/ceramic to get rid of, I want it!

I’ve discovered the perfect art hobby for myself: recycling, or should I say “upcycling,” glass. It’s inexpensive, easy and great for my garden (which I am slowly converting to the lowest-maintenance relaxation area I think I can create without paving it over into ugliness).

To wit, my first creation:
first creation 1 first creation 2

Next, I will be constructing a fountain from some plates, bowls and vases I’ve collected (cheap or free at tag sales or thrift stores—I prefer the free stuff, but I’ve found it’s somewhat hard to come by larger, colorful stuff for free).

So, keep me in mind before throwing out that can’t-find-the-bowl lid, or those weird ceramic candle holders you got as a gift. Or when you see a box of free mis-matched plates or old windows on the side of the road.

I’m your gal!
