Writer’s Block
“White. A blank page or canvas.”
–George Seurat, from Sunday in the Park with George
Let me modify that: “A blank screen or canvas.”
Nothing scarier or more exhilarating.
So much promise. Unlimited potential.
But the first mark circumscribes and binds, so the painter/writer/artist’s responsibility is heavy.
Perhaps that is why I have been hard-pressed to write of late. I have been struggling with demons. So many creatures in my head struggling to be free, but, if I loose them, what then?
The first mark is fate. It will dictate. It is written.
Things change when written. Memories change. Ideas transform.
This is good.
And it is bad.
The ecstasy and the horror. But I have recommitted to both.
So, stay tuned for more regular postings and passions. Mondays and Thursdays.
