The Doll’s Cheese Straw
I’ve been to Kentucky once. Mammoth Caves are a must see.
Unfortunately, I missed stopping in Louisville that trip, but an experience this week has me determined to stop at Doll’s Market if ever I journey that way again.
The beauty of the holidays is that people are always thinking up new gift ideas.
Someone at work put out a gift tin of cheese straws recently. The tin hailed from Doll’s Market, of which, I confess, I’d never heard before reading the container’s cover.
What are cheese straws, you may ask? Those at my office resembled cookie-press cookies–dough extruded in long thin shapes. But they are savory, being made up of flour, cheese, salt, butter and spices.
The straws were crisp and delicate. A perfect heated spiciness nipped at the heels of their deliciously cheesy taste. I could not eat just one.
Now, if I can just figure out how the tin was ordered. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a web site for Doll’s Market itself (someone should tell them to change that).
Maybe it is time for a road trip….
Wanna come?
